“I spent over 15 years in active addiction and thought I would die. Then, I had my son. I wanted a better life for us. After detoxing at a short-term rehab, I was accepted to Renewal House. I was so excited! Renewal House gave me a place to spend time with my baby and learn the skills I needed to help me deal with not only my addiction but my trauma. It gave me the tools to start a new life.
After being in the program for nine months, I got a job, gained independence and learned to face the outside world on my own. I am responsible and worked hard to get where I am today. I am a good mom, but I know without a doubt that it would not have been possible without Renewal House.”

“My number one goal was to have a healthy child. The mission and dedication of Renewal House changed my life.
My case manager and therapist taught me the skills I needed to face life on its own terms and to deal with those terms without the use of drugs.
I gave birth to a healthy baby boy in June of 2016. He is smart, beautiful, and full of life.
I have completed my Master’s Degree in Social Work, and I plan to pursue my Doctorate in Non-Profit Management.
Now it is my turn to help other people have happy, healthy and productive lives.
We have made a home here, and I am able to participate regularly in recovery community activities.”

“When my mom went to Renewal House, I was proud of her. She started to care more about our lives than her own. She became an adult, got a job and got involved with my school. We have a good relationship now. I wouldn’t have that if not for Renewal House.”

“My mother was addicted to painkillers. She didn’t know how to love herself more than the pills.
I was 3 months old when we moved into Renewal House. I was 17 months old when my mother graduated. That’s where she learned to love herself, her life and me.”
